Classes Offered

Puppy Obedience (4 months to 1 year): Controlled walking, 1 minute sit stay and down stay, sit for examination by handler’s side, and come when called.
Beginner Obedience (Puppies moving up from Puppy Obedience and dogs over a year that have not had prior formal training): Heel with automatic sit when handler stops, 1 minute sit, 3 minute down stay, sit for examination with handler 6 feet in front, and come when called with sit in front.
Pre-Agility: Offered as needed (i.e. in order to hold a class, there has to be a minimum of 6 teams) This class is for teams who have completed at least one obedience class and need proofing on walking with a loose leash, sit, down, and stand stay, and come. Emphasis will be placed on the handlers’ control of their dogs around distractions. Dogs will also be introduced to beginning agility obstacles and techniques. This class is a great class to complete before proceeding to Beginner Agility.
Pre-Novice Obedience (Dogs moving up from Beginner. This class also incorporates the AKC Good Citizenship test): Heel with automatic sit, Figure Eight, 1 minute sit and 3 minute down stay, stand for examination, and come when called with front and finish.
Competition Obedience: Novice and Open level Competition training and for those just wanting a dog that is stable off lead.
Three levels of Rally Obedience
Introduction to Rally Obedience: Introduction to all signs, as well as course work. This class provides fun and enjoyment for both dog and handler, promotes teamwork, and advanced training skills! Good basic Obedience skills are a must!
***Prerequisite for Introduction to Rally– Teams must have had at least one session of Pre Novice level Obedience and have good heeling skills, a reliable ‘sit’, ‘down’ and ‘recall’ and have the recommendation of their Pre Novice Obedience Instructor and/or the permission of the Rally Committee.
Intermediate Rally Obedience: Intermediate teams work on fine tuning their skills and preparing for entering Trials. One can expect to repeat this class.
***Prerequisite for Intermediate Rally– Teams must have had at least one session of PreNovice Obedience, one session of Introduction to Rally Obedience, have reliable off lead healing skills and have the recommendation of their Introduction to Rally Instructor and/or the permission of the Rally Committee.
Competition Rally Obedience: Teams who are currently competing or ready to compete practice Run Thru’s, problem solving, avoiding traps, etc. This class may be repeated as needed.
***Prerequisite for Competition Rally– Teams must have had at least one session of PreNovice Obedience, one session of Introduction to Rally Obedience, one session of Intermediate Rally, have reliable off lead healing skills and have the recommendation of their previous Rally Instructor and/or the permission of the Rally Committee.
Three levels of Agility
Beginner Agility Class- SAFE introduction to Obstacles. Puppies over 6 months may participate in this class, but jumping will be restricted.
***Prerequisite–(1) Dog MUST attend and successfully complete a minimum of one ADTC obedience class (Pre-Agility), and must have a recommendation from the instructor. (2) Must pass Agility pre-test Orientation Night before going into Beginner Agility (given after meeting with instructors) Preregistration for Beginner Agility will still be accepted, however the class fee check will be attached to the application in case the team fails the pre-test. The check may be returned or transferred to an appropriate level obedience class.
Intermediate Agility Class– Sequencing & Handling Techniques: This class is continuing education, introducing ‘crosses’ and other handling techniques and is a prerequisite for Competition Agility Class. This class may be repeated as needed, especially for those headed towards competition. In fact, repetition is encouraged!
***Prerequisite–(1) Dog MUST attend and successfully complete a minimum of one ADTC Obedience class, one Pre-Agility class, one Beginner Agility class and must have a recommendation from the instructor.
Advanced/Competition Agility Class– Run Thru’s, problem solving, avoiding ‘traps’, etc: This class is for dogs preparing for Trials! Emphasis on fine tuning both members of your team! This is another class one can expect to repeat.
***Prerequisite–(1) Dog MUST attend and successfully complete a minimum of one ADTC Obedience class, one Pre-Agility class, one Beginner Agility class, one Intermediate Agility class and must have a recommendation from the instructor.
Breeding Handling Class: Preparation for the conformation ring.
